Noise-induced hearing loss is the only type of loss we have some control over.  We can't change our genetics, age, or strong medications that may affect our hearing.  However, we can protect our ears against the true weapon of mass destruction...noise.  The affects of noise on our ears is cumulative - much like ultraviolet rays on our skin.  However, it does catch up to us eventually.  The investment of taking care of your ears is minimal when you consider the devastating reality of loosing it.
